Since 1996 REIZ develop eyewear frames that push the boundaries for quality and design. Combining the classical elegance of a retro-style with a distinctively futuristic touch they create a new and unique design language. Exploring the dichotomy of old and new, nostalgic charm and visionary perspective, is the main theme of their collections, made mostly of acetate. The series AL13 was introduced in the year 2015. The first frames made out of aluminum are a technical milestone of precision and quality. AL13 culminates timeless design and technical innovation. Following their high standards of quality, REIZ decided to produce exclusively in Germany. Traditional craftsmanship paired with modern production technology guarantees the exclusivity of these lovingly manufactured frames. Production
REIZ glasses are created as a combination of state-of-the-art production technology and handcrafts. With multi-dimensional milling technologies the acetate plates, with a thickness of up to 14mm can be entirely processed. The extensive hand-polished finish lends an organic look and the soft touch to the frames. Every prototype is handmade. In order to ensure high-end quality and the precise implementation of an idea without losing details in the process, producing nearby in Germany is essential. Acetate provides endless opportunities for design. One or multi-layered production creates unusual effects and plays of color. All colors and combinations are developed and defined by REIZ. Acetate is a living material. Processing it requires great expertise and experience. It is the unique combination of color, form and material that makes a pair of REIZ glasses.

ECO Material
100% eco-friendly, biodegradable and recyclable
REIZ ECO material is a cellulose acetate manufactured under a special formula using substances from renewable sources. The percentage of components deriving from natural sources has been increased. Acetate is a polymer deriving from cellulose. The process coverst he treatment oft two types of fibres: fibres from seeds (cotton) and fibres from wood (conifers and broadleaves).
The material is phthalate-free and therefore compatible with other polymers, such as the polycarbonate.
It keeps all the aesthetical and performance characteristics of the traditional acetate. The material can be worked without modifying the productive process of the frame and it is compatible with all types of lenses.
The natural derivation of the material gives a pleasant effect of a „warm and silky“ touch. It allows the user to feel a sense of luxury which can only come from natural substances.
